The Town began managing the ambulance service on July 1, 2022. By providing this service, the Town will have greater flexibility and provide quality assurance to residents by assuring the continuation of their own paramedic services from point of contact to deliver at the emergency room.

The cost of the new service is $5.2 million, which includes five new ambulances incorporating the newest technology, ideas, and features, along with state-of-the-art medical equipment, and twenty-two new personnel, which will staff three ambulances each day.

How much will ambulance service cost?
The cost of our ambulance service will vary depending on insurance and emergency services providers.
What do the service descriptions mean on my invoice?
1. BLS: basic medical monitoring during transport
2. ALS: Advanced life support, level 1 is the transportation by ground ambulance vehicle and the provision of medically necessary supplies and services including the provision of an ALS assessment or at least one ALS intervention.
3. ALS2: the transportation by ground ambulance vehicle and the provision of medically necessary supplies and services including (1) at least three separate administrations of one or more medications by intravenous push/ bolus or by continuous infusion (excluding crystalloid fluids); or (2) ground ambulance transport and the provision of at least one of the ALS2 procedures (manual defibrillation/cardioversion, endotracheal intubation, central venous line, cardiac pacing, chest decompression, surgical airway, or intraosseous line).

Why is the billing address and payment address different?
The ambulance service bill will have an Oaks, Pennsylvania address, and the payment address will be in Jackson, Mississippi due to our contracted processing vendor locations.
