Meet at the Morton Museum with fellow Friends to discuss "The Ponder Heart", a 1953 novella written by Eudora Welty that was originally published in The New Yorker before becoming a Broadway play. The narrator of the story is Miss Edna Earle Ponder, one of the last living members of a once-prominent family, who manages the Beulah Hotel in Clay, Mississippi. She tells a traveling salesman the history of her family and fellow townsfolk.
COME if you did read the book, COME if you didn’t read or finish the book! RSVP is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. Please email your name and the number of attendees to fotmmbc@outlook.com.
