What’s The Role?
Working as an Engineering Technician, you can expect to type, prepare, or complete various forms, reports, correspondence, logs, lists, signs, receipts, notices, case files, legal orders, cost sheets, or other documents. Monitor status of projects/workflow and troubleshoot problem situations; work to independently resolve problems and initiate appropriate action/response; oversee processing of a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations within designated timeframes and per established procedures; log, track, or maintain records regarding department activities; compile data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports. Relieve upper management staff of routine administrative tasks; screen telephone calls, mail, e-mail, and other communications and initiate appropriate action/response; record and transcribe dictation; type, compose, edit, or proofread various documentation; maintain calendars and schedule meetings, appointments, interviews, or other activities; coordinate travel arrangements, accommodations, conference registrations, or related plans for department staff. Process accounts payable, budget, and financial documentation; process purchasing documentation; and receive payments for various fees, fines, or services. You can also expect to maintain personnel records and process Engineering bi-weekly payroll and monthly time accruals. Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
Here is what you must have to be considered for the position of Engineering Technician:
- High school diploma or GED required, associate’s degree preferred;
- supplemented by Three (3) years experience and/or training with knowledge in construction, storm water drainage, roadway construction, erosion control, and estimating; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Valid Driver’s License
