I just received a traffic citation; what should I do?
You must contact the Court Clerk’s Office by calling 901-457-2580 within twenty (20) days of the citation issue date to: (1) pay your traffic ticket, or (2) request a court hearing by entering a plea of Guilty or Not Guilty. A plea of Guilty is requesting mercy from the court in an attempt to keep the citation from appearing on your driving record and a plea of Not Guilty is asking for justice and a trial before the Judge.
I want to pay my traffic citation. What’s the easiest method to pay?
The easiest and most convenient method of payment is online (colliervilletix.com) or by phone by calling 901-471-2152. You will need your citation number and last name listed on the citation. If you need this information, please call the Clerk’s Office at 901-457-2580. You may also pay in person or by mail at Collierville Municipal Court located at 101 Walnut Street, Collierville, TN 38017; debit and credit cards accepted. Please send check or money order when paying by mail and include your pink copy of your citation or your citation number to ensure proper credit; do not mail cash.
If I pay the traffic citation, will it be recorded on my driving record?
Yes, if you pay the traffic citation, it will be reported to the TN Department of Safety as a guilty conviction.

I was issued a traffic citation for Financial Responsibility; what should I do?
Tennessee state law requires all licensed drivers to have liability insurance. Bring your proof of liability insurance that was valid at the time of the traffic citation issuance to the Clerk’s Office and the citation will be Dismissed at no cost. If you did not have liability insurance at the time of the citation, you must pay the ticket within 20 days of the citation’s issuance date. The conviction for Financial Responsibility will be reported to the TN Department of Safety. You will need to provide proof of active liability insurance to the TNDOS or your driver’s license may be suspended.
I was issued a traffic citation for Violation of Registration – Expired Tags. What should I do?
Renew your vehicle’s registration and bring proof to the Court Clerk’s Office within 20 days of the citation issuance date and your citation will be Dismissed at cost. If you cannot provide proof of current registration, you must pay the citation within 20 days of the issue date.
Does Collierville Municipal Court offer a Juvenile Probation Program for teenage drivers 18 years of age or younger?
Yes, the Town of Collierville’s Juvenile Probation Program is a voluntary program designed to promote public safety and to keep teenage driver’s traffic violations from being reported to the Department of Safety upon the successful completion of the program. It’s available to qualifying teenage drivers who are 18 years of age, or younger, or are still in high school. The juvenile driver or their parent must contact the Clerk’s Office by calling 901-457-2580 within 20 days of the citation issue date and request the Juvenile Program. Upon acceptance into the program, the juvenile and their parent will need to come to the Clerk’s Office to receive a packet and sign an order to comply with the terms and conditions of probation.
